Adelaide's Cabin is my log cabin quilt pattern. Well, it's log cabin with a twist. This is a super fun pattern to make because each quilt block comes out looking completely different.
Adelaide's Cabin Quilt Pattern was written with 2 variations, because I always like to make things more complicated. 😉 You can make the pattern using scraps or with fat quarters or 1/2 yards.
The choice is obviously yours, but the look of the quilt is going to come out quite a bit different.

The first Adelaide's Cabin I made was from all scraps. It was definitely time consuming digging through all my scraps deciding which colors and prints worked with the look I wanted. I went through the scrap bins a couple times during my sewing time to get the correct pieces.

The scrappy version of Adelaide's Cabin takes more time than the precut version. This is because of all the sorting and cutting of small pieces. However, this gives you a truly unique quilt which you can look back on and remember projects of past. Scrappy quilts are definitely a look some people love, others love a more modern look.
The second version of Adelaide's Cabin is for those of us who want a more modern look. You can use fat quarters or 1/2 yard cuts to make this.

The 1/2 yard and fat quarter version of the pattern uses strip piecing to make the sewing and cutting go a bit faster. This leaves you with some extra fabric. I used mine to make a throw pillow to match.
If you are a beginner quilter or lacking a bit of confidence, then using the 1/2 yard or fat quarter version might be easier. There are less individual seams which can mean less issues with seam allowance.

Either way you make it, Adelaide's Cabin is one of my all time favorite patterns! I can't get enough of it! I'm dreaming up my next version and which colors to use.
