Week 2 Red Fort of Agra Quilt Along

Happy 2nd week of our Quilt Along!

Have you purchased your fabrics? I have only seen one picture on Instagram of fabrics chosen for the QAL. Make sure you post a picture of your fabrics and tag me: @thenomadicquilter or tag #redfortquiltalong  I can't wait to see what each of you chose.

During week 2 we are cutting our fabrics. I noticed that depending on if you have a little wiggle room or not you really have to make precise cuts with the fat quarters. Sometimes stores will over cut the fabric an inch or 1/2 inch so you get a nice FQ if the fabric isn't cut exactly straight. My fat quarters were exactly 18 x 21 inches. I cut three at a time and if they weren't lined up just right I would be short a 1/4 on some of the 4 1/2 inch cuts. All that to say, take your time cutting.

Make sure to post a picture of your cut fabric.

Above are all my Fabric B (2 1/2 inch squares). I chose solid and blender fabrics that match my Fabric A fabrics. Below is a picture of all the fabrics for my quilt. I am loving the bright colors. This collection is Pollinate by Jessica Swift for Art Gallery Fabrics. I have it on good authority that this line will be shipping in the next couple weeks. So if you like it be on the lookout.
