The Stepwell quilt pattern is a modern quilt pattern inspired by the famous stepwells of India and Pakistan. This quilt uses yardage, from two different fabrics, to mimic these incredible ancient structures. The Stepwell quilt is an elegant quilt design with a timeless feel.
Little Three Creeks is a modern quilt pattern inspired by a family hike from my childhood. This pattern is more of a minimalist take on the mountain range. I especially love the mirrored mountains on the bottom, which means no matter which way you hold it, it's the right way up. This version of the quilt was my first attempt at this design. I had roughly drawn up a design in summer 2020 while we were hiking every week in Central Oregon.
Red Fort of Agra is probably my favorite modern quilt pattern. I have made it the most times, by a lot. It is also the pattern I used for hosting my first quilt along. Art Gallery Fabrics sponsored the quilt along by allowing me to use their new fabric line, Pollinate, to make my Red Fort of Agra quilt. They also gave a fat quarter bundle of Pollinate to one lucky winner from the quilt along.
Week 7 is here and it's all about catching up this week. If you missed a week or are a bit behind, no sweat, you have this week to finish all those blocks. By the end of this week you should have all 20 blocks done. Although, I know some of you are making different sizes, so in that case it's time to finish up.
The Old Muscat Souq quilt pattern is a modern quilt pattern inspired by a family trip to Oman. I was so inspired on this trip by all the beautiful shapes and designs I saw built into walls, buildings and Mosques. You can read all about the inspiration and see some pictures here.
Week four here we go! Last week we were to make 5 Red Fort of Agra quilt blocks. But I have a hunch that some of you couldn't stop at 5. These are super hard to stop making once you start. I love seeing how each block comes together a little differently than the last.
It's the last week of our quilt along, which means we get to see all the pieces come together. I cannot wait to see what each of you has created and the way you organize the blocks. I just love the fabric choices each of you chose and watching you piece the quilts has gotten my creative juices flowing.
I loved the new colors released this year by Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids line. So I decided to use this as my palate to choose from. It was hard to choose the mountain colors, I actually think the middle mountain could be a shade darker. But I am really happy with how it turned out. The colors I chose are reminiscent of a sunset.
I reached out to Art Gallery Fabrics a couple months ago asking if they would collaborate with me to make a AGF version of my Lodhi Garden quilt pattern. They graciously agreed to work with me (happy dance!).
